You'll see shots of the 610th Trans. Co. compound -- workshops, aircraft undergoing repairs, a helicopter bone-yard, and footage of men testing prop balance and test-flying a Huey. You'll go on a road-trip into Danang, with footage filmed from the truck of roadside temples, markets, the countryside, and on into the busy traffic of the city, then the return trip to the Viking Compound. There's footage filmed at Red Beach -- men enjoying the surf and sunbathing -- you'll see some good shots of our cameraman when he hands the camera off to a buddy. A section of film that the cameraman titled "Sunday Girls" shows a group of Vietnamese women interacting with US military men and some riding away in the back of an Army truck. There's also footage of Vietnamese "Hootch Maids" posing for the camera and doing some cleaning work.
There's lengthy footage of jets making bombing runs in the hills just outside of the base, with plumes of smoke rising up. You'll see Chinook helicopters bringing in Hueys for repair and men doing maintenance work on helicopters. At the end you'll see our photographer and others boarding a helicopter and flying to Chu Lai for a temporary duty assignment -- the 610th sent out technical assistance teams to various units in the area when help was needed.
