"USMC HAWAII 1964-1965"

Color home movies filmed by a young Marine, from Graduation at MCRD San Diego to training in Hawaii.

You'll see footage shot at MCRD San Diego, including Graduation ceremonies and some shots of the Endurance Course. Then the action moves on to Hawaii where you'll see Marines with painted faces wearing camo fatigues, posing for the camera with machine guns, rifles and bazookas. There's footage of UH-34s landing in a field, loading Marines and taking off again, and a tough-looking bunch of Marines charging through a bivouac site and over-running the cameraman. The men pose with their weapons again, some pointing them at the camera.
There's footage of the Hawaiian countryside and mountains, and some scenes filmed at a mock-up of a Vietnamese village -- including a funny shot of men with sticks chasing another guy dressed up as a village woman.
You'll see Marines in full gear loading onto a ship, and later on manuevers on a beach -- watching from cover as a landing craft comes ashore. There's also footage of long rows of military vehicles -- trucks, Amtraks, mules, M-50 Ontos and Howitzers.

Running Time: 31 minutes
