You'll see scenes filmed by the KMAG advisor -- but often he has someone else filming him: observing and helping Korean soldiers as they set up camp, pitching tents, planting shrubs and trees. He goofs off for the camera, lifting weights and doing stop-action filming as he dons his uniform piece-by-piece. There's footage of S. Korean soldiers training: wiggling under barbed wire, rifle drill, and firing Quad-50s from the back of half-tracks at a nearby hill. You'll see the South Koreans around the camp, camouflaging tents with tree branches, cooking a huge pot of cabbage over the fire, washing pots in the river, playing volleyball, and more.
There are winter scenes filmed in a cold, snowy town -- probably Pusan, with military and civilians milling around, long convoy of trucks, and ships in the harbor. Soldiers and equipment are being loaded onto the attack transport USS Noble (APA-218).
There is some footage filmed in a hospital ward, with our advisor and other patients wearing robes, clowning around and pestering the nurses. It may have been a hospital in Japan.
There's some nice footage of hospital ships at Pusan, including the USS Repose and USS Haven, and the Danish hospital ship Jutlandia. You'll also see a patient being transferred from a troop ship aboard a hospital transport craft. There's footage shot in the town of Taegu and vicinity -- civilians going about their normal daily routine, and more.
Other footage includes:
~a Brigadier General from IX Corps shaking hands with Korean soldiers
~shots of what may be enemy prisoners being guarded by S. Korean soldiers
~Aircraft Carriers USS Sicily and USS Los Angeles
~Destroyer Squadron including USS Perkins, Frank Evans, Bradford and Nicholas
~Taegu PX
