You'll see panning shots of the 3rd Bde, 82nd Abn Division's HQ compound at Phu Loi -- "All American" and other artwork painted on the roofs of buildings. There's footage of several men playing basketball, a hootch-maid with empty laundry tubs, some Vietnamese women rolling a barrel down the side of the road, and an 82nd Abn soldier pumping gas. You'll go on a road trip, driving past Cobra helicopters in revetments, men swimming in a roadside pond, villages, a cemetery, and more. Back at Phu Loi there's footage of entertainers on an outdoor stage with a parachute canopy -- a black singer/comedian puts on a show, dressed as a woman for part of his performance. There's a band with women singers and dancers.
In Vung Tau on R&R, you'll see guys at a swimming pool, shots of the outside of the Rex Hotel with "Officer's Open Mess" sign, and street scenes of shops and traffic, including a family in a horse-drawn cart. You'll catch a bus and take a drive to the beach, stopping at the Beachcombers Club, where there's a gift shop, dining area, a band on the stage and little Vietnamese kids dancing to the music. There's some footage filmed at the beach, and more shots of the band on stage at the club.
Back in Phu Loi there's some footage of a soldier posing with an AK-47, and a roadtrip to Long Binh.
