"TURNER TANKERS"
Cold War era Military Home Movies

Color home movie footage filmed by a soldier serving in Germany with Co. F, 40th Armor of the Berlin Brigade during the mid-1970s.

The movie begins with a shot of the Co. F, 40th Armor sign at Turner Barracks, "Have Gun Will Travel", and a shot of an M60 Patton tank with the unit's dragon crest painted on the spotlight cover. It then proceeds to maneuvers at Grafenwoehr Training Area in Bavaria, where you'll see a line of tanks, and men standing around by a tank ramp -- the sign reads "Tank Ramp Courtesy of A Co. 28th Engr Bn". Other footage shows men working on a truck, guys waiting in line for chow, and passing by a table set up with a birthday cake for Chief Ison, and a line of M60s firing. Back in Berlin the tanks drive down the street, returning to Turner Barracks. You'll see footage of the large maintenance building and tank parking area, tanks and tank recovery vehicles, and more.
