"VUNG TAU & QUI NHON"
Vietnam War Home Movies

Home movie footage filmed by a soldier stationed at Vung Tau and Qui Nhon during 1968-69, with additional footage filmed at Long Binh.

You'll see some brief scenes filmed at Long Binh -- hootches, muddy roads between buildings, panoramic shots of the compound. At Vung Tau you'll see panoramic shots of the area, including VC Hill (or Radar Hill if you're Australian) in the background, hootches, bunkers, buildings, and aircraft flying overhead. There's footage of Back Beach, including people relaxing on the beach, MPs patrolling in Jeep, and shots of a ship grounded on the rocks.
The footage of Qui Nhon is mostly filmed from a sentry post or guard tower, looking down across the perimeter fence at shops across the street -- you'll see working girls hanging out at the Massage and Bath house, soldiers coming and going, MPs patrolling the area, children selling wares out of a large portable case, pedestrians, and traffic. Down the street is a large sign pointing the way to "US Army Engineer Construction Agency - Northern District / Pacific Architects & Engineers, Inc - Qui Nhon Support Area". There's also some footage filmed over the rooftops of one of the local women flashing the guys and waving at the camera from a near-by building.

The DVD has a soundtrack of AFVN radio shows.
